More than 80 whales came near to the India’s southern coast seashore and died, officials reported on Tuesday.
M. Ravi Kumar, the top govt. officer in the southern port town in Tamil Nadu state said that the pilot whales started washing up on the beaches on Monday evening which was a huge scenario of that time. Short-finned pilot whales came in a group, but the absence of their leader confused them and then they started to gather on the shore and died for the low level of water.
The local officials said that they asked the experts nearby to help them find out why the whale’s were washing up ashore and help them to get the whales back to the ocean as soon as possible. As they were dying, they tried to save the whales but most died.
